Rhino Rack Watersport Carriers Review - 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon Wilderness. These are gonna be great for transporting a kayak as well as saving a lot of room in your cross bars for more accessories, like a cargo basket, another kayak, maybe even a bike. It's gonna be made out of steel, so it's gonna be very durable, lasts a long time. It's also finished with a black powder coat making it corrosion and rust resistant as well. The kayaks sit on these foam pads and this is a hard rubber down here at the bottom and it just keeps it protected, free from any scratches or anything like that. The buckles that tie down your kayak are gonna be coated in this rubber material, so if you are a little bit shorter than me and need the buckle over here, you can have that peace of mind knowing that it's not gonna scratch up your kayak as well. more

Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby. And today we're taking a look at the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier here, on our 2022 Subaru Outback wilderness. So if you guys are looking for a way of getting your kayak wherever your destination might be taking you, well this is gonna be a great little option for you. Why I like it It is a very decent carrier, gonna get you a lot of those features you might start seeing in some of your more premium carriers, and I'm a really big fan of the strap kit that comes with this guy. Honestly, we try to pump it to a lot of the other Kayak carriers out there because you're getting a lot of just decent fabric here. I love the protection we get on our cam buckles, things like this little felt protection on them, protecting your kayak and the roof of your vehicle, which is great, but honestly the anchors that make this a lot easier to get in the hood and the back hatch of your vehicle, really make it awesome for itself. more

Inno Locker Watersport Carrier Review - 2017 Subaru Forester

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we are looking at the Inno Locker Watersport Carrier here on our 2017 Subaru Forester. So this is a great carrier for your kayak or your boards, especially if you paddle solo sometimes, but you also want the option to bring your friends' boards if you guys want to go out to the water or to the lake. Since this does have a lock, it's also good to keep everything secure plus you don't need to use straps with this one. So this has a lock on the end and you get two keys to use with the lock. So you just put that in, rotate it, and then you can lift up on the end cap that gives you access to your kayaks or your boat. Now, if you do have a Inno Aero crossbar, that's great because it's designed to work with that crossbar. more

Now, when you're talking about kayak carriers, a lot of things to consider, obviously we want something that's gonna be nice and easy to go ahead and throw up on our roof bars, but also we are looking for a lot of good contact and making sure that our kayak is going to be sustaining any damages up there. And I think the JayLow is definitely going to be one of your more premium kayak carriers for a lot of reasons. It has all those bells and whistles you're looking for on a kayak carrier, and I think how the mounting system works, definitely start setting it way ahead of some of the other carriers in my mind. You also are going to get a pretty nice tie-down kit with it, as you can see this does do a good job of holding our kayaks in here. It does come with a bow and stern anchor strap as well, so I definitely recommend putting those on there, it's really going to help you, especially if you're doing that highway driving, that way we're not going to be feeling that lift on our kayak, and that way it's going to stay way more secure onto our carrier. more

This is going to be a really nice, affordable way to get your boat on top of your car. They also feature a flexible base, which contour to the lines of the kayak. The base is also a rubber material, and that helps prevent any damage or scratches to your kayak. Now the saddle mounts are a clamp on style, which will work with most factory and aftermarket roof rack systems. Rola J-Rac Kayak Carrier Installation - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek- Video

Rola J-Rac Kayak Carrier Installation - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Rola J-Rac Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs, part number 59912.The Rola J-Rac is great for carrying up to one kayak on the roof of your vehicle and having enough space on the other side to install other accessories, such as a bike rack or another kayak carrier. The kayak simply sets on the J-Rac and it has padding in areas where it's going to make contact with your kayak, to help protect it against those scratches that you might incur when you're trying to install it.This does come with both the tie-down straps, as well as the bow and stern tie-downs to secure this to your roof as well. With the straps, it does have this cover that goes around the buckle, again to help protect the hull of your kayak.Unfortunately, when everything's attached, you can not open your rear hatch. Mainly because of the bow/stern tie-down, but even if this wasn't there, if you we're to open this up, it would make contact with the kayak. This is made from a black powder coated steel construction, so it's very durable and it's also corrosion resistant. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the kayak carrier, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. Loosen one of them up completely and remove it, take off the clamp and push it off to the side like so and then set it onto our bar. When we set it down, we want to try to keep it a little even with our rear hook, bring that clamp around, and reattach our turn mount. more

Lockrack Watersport Carriers Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Lockrack Stand Up Paddle Board Carrier for wide stand up paddle boards, part number 339LR65SASETA. This can carry up to one stand up paddle board, and this is a universal mounting system. Right now we have it around square bars, this will also work with round, elliptical and most factory roof racks, but it also has an option to switch this to a channel mount, so it can work with those roof racks with t-slots in them as well. This is a very unique stand up paddle board carrier in that once it's installed it doesn't require any straps, or bow and stern tie-downs, or anything like that once it's installed. It'll grip your stand up paddle board at four points. We're going to have two arms at each side, and they are going to have this nice thick rubber padding to help protect the hull of your stand up paddle board where it makes contact with it. Also, at the base here, we have this rubber padding as well as this extra gripping material so once you initially install this it's not going to shift around or move around while you're pushing these into place. more

Lockrack Watersport Carriers Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek 339LRSSUPSETA

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Lockrack stand up paddleboard carrier for one stand up paddleboard. This is going to be part number 339LRSSUPSETA. We already have a stand up paddleboard installed on it, so let's go ahead and take a closer look here. This is a pretty unique carrier, in that once everything is installed and pushed in place, you don't need any straps to hold down the stand up paddleboard while you're traveling. Instead, it uses these ratcheting arms with these thick rubber pads to help protect the hull, to hold it in place, and keep it in place while you travel. There is also padding on the underneath here, which is treaded to make sure this won't move around while you're initially installing it. With everything installed as it is, unfortunately we're not able to open up our rear hatch, as it will make contact with our paddleboard, although you're able to open enough to get some space in there. more

We used the 10 foot long Malone straps, which you can find on etrailer.com.Looking at the pads, these are going to be foam pads with a nylon covering on them to help protect your stand-up paddle board or surf board while in transport, to make sure there's no scratches or abrasions on it. Today in our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack stand up paddle board and surf board pads with tie downs, part number RRRWP03. Now we already have one of our pads installed, we'll go ahead and show you how to install the other one. These are very easy, they come in a quantity of two, and they have these hook and loop straps that will wrap around our Rhino Rack crossbars here, however this will also work with square, round, aero, elliptical and some factory crossbars. I'm going to pull it down nice and tight on both sides and then make your connections. We'll do this all around, go to the other side to finish that up, again pulling down, make sure it's nice and tight. Alright, then with both of these installed, we're ready to install our surf board. These pads can only carry one of either, that's the surf board or the stand up paddle board, or other accessories depending on what they are, and then it comes with two tie downs as I said earlier, and these do have rubber pads on them as well, and these are cam buckle straps, and they're rubber padded to ensure that your actual surfboard does not get scratched up once this is being installed.
